Nicole Kight, Fear Free Certified

Assistant Trainer and Behavior Apprentice

Pronouns: she/her

Nicole has been involved in the animal world for 20 years in various capacities. She has always had an interest in learning more about animal behavior, specially dogs.

She began her career as an accredited pet trainer at PetSmart, where she worked for 8 years. There she taught puppy, basic, intermediate, advanced and trick classes. At the same time, she became involved in conformation and also agility classes with her dogs.

Nicole then pursued her passion for animal welfare. For the next 10 years she worked as an Animal Control Officer for the City of Forth Worth. She performed field work, led investigations into dangerous dog cases, special operations and orchestrated public education and adoptions.

For the last 3 years, Nicole has been the Behavior Training Manager for the Humane Society of North Texas. She trained the shelter dogs, staff and volunteers with an emphasis on animal behavior and enrichment. Nicole also worked with owners after adoptions to ensure dogs did not get returned.

Nicole is now ready for the next step in her career to become a certified pet dog trainer. She is extremely excited to learn from and work with Beth and cannot wait to see what the future brings her.

In her free time, you will often find Nicole reading and spending quality time with her dogs and family. The top item on her bucket list is to travel to and hike as many state and national parks as possible. She looks forward to taking on new hobbies and fun adventures in her jeep with her dogs.
